Note the dual license plate reading cameras.

Strictly drive off then? I don't see a towing rig there

They're either doing drive off repos, or they call in a tow truck once they find their mark. A buddy of mine used to do repos for GMAC. They'd either show up with an extra key and drive it off, or sit on it until a wrecker could come grab it.

See, I'd be the repo guy with a heavy duty truck that I've taken the body off of and put on like a minivan or something. Cause no one ever suspects the minivan.....mwahahaha.

Sometimes they do that, but they can also summon a tow truck. They use these cars as spotters to find cars that have been marked for repossession.
Highly recommended read on the modern repo industry (only going to become more relevant given the state of auto loans): The surprising return of the repo man

They use spotter cars, they tell the tow guys where they are and what times and usually will spend weeks searching until they have a stack of cars and then go grab them.

A car you would expect to see getting repoed is the one trying to catch debtors. Interesting.

Nice!

Too bad the cameras stick out like a sore thumb. With all the animosity people tend to have towards r epo men, I’d probably try to hide those in the fenders or bumper , if there’s any room behind there .

In my PI days I crossed paths with a number of repo men. Just like PIs some good some scum, most in the middle. We were often staking out the house, it seems disability fraud and repos go hand and hand

I’d do the headlights.

I’m sure they repo'd it a while back, and nobody wanted it from their auction.

True, but I bet most people don't know what they are.

I don’t begrudge repo men. If I don’t make my payments, someone should take the stuff back.
I can't say I'm surprised that those two go hand in hand.

The ones who follow the rules are fine but the ones who operate unlicensed make me very angry.

Yeah, that makes sense. I have no way to distinguish them.

Was this getting INTO a tense situation?

No, it was outside a gas station. I have a strange fascination with any vehicle I see with license plate reading cameras.

It’s a line paraphrased from Twister, taken from RepoMen for that movie . I don't get out enough....

I liked Twister, but I don't recall that line.

“ Most people spend their lives getting out of tense situations. Repo M en spend their lives getting INTO tense situations! Wooo Beltzer!!”
I may have watched the movie a few times or a couple hundred. maybe...
